Farmer’s Skinny Patriotic

Farmer's Skinny Patriotic

Farmer's Skinny Patriotic is our second "skinny" pattern and how appropriate it is that it would be patriotic; we all know how much Susan loves stars and stripes and anything patriotic! Funny she didn't get a star in there somewhere!

There are so many different characters that could have been placed on this quilt. We only have one branch of the military represented, but we did pick the one closest to our hearts, the Navy. Our Grandpa Johnny served on the USS Boxer, my father-in-law served in the the V-12 unit of the Navy, Susan's father-in-law served on the USS Boston Cruiser and Susan's brother-in-law is currently in the navy as a mineman of the USS Charleston.

We had many memorable presidents, but personally we thought Abe has one of the most distinct looks and was a great president of the past.

The Statue of Liberty is a must, wouldn't you say?

Uncle Sam is actually a fictional character that has become an American icon since 1950 when it was used to encourage men to enlist in the military. It makes me think of the many parades during the summer months celebrating a town, county, state and the nation. Full of stars and stripes, that guys is!
